Susan Reeder joins Assisted Living Locators Atlanta with 11 years of experience as a Health and Physical Education teacher for Fulton County Schools. She began her career with Fulton County soon after receiving her Bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education and Recreation from the University of Pittsburgh.
During her tenure there she became an expert in health and perfected techniques of combining education and physical activity to maximize the educational and recreational benefit to her students. Through this process, she became adept at matching children and young adults with situations that fit them best. She was there until 1989.
Following her teaching career, she elected to become a homemaker and raise her two daughters but she remained very active in her community as a Girl Scout leader, organizer and volunteer. With her daughters now in college, Reeder got back to her physically active roots and became an ACE certified personal trainer in January 2010. She also started preparing for her second health related career with her enrollment in Kennesaw State University’s Gerontology Professional Development Certificate Program, which she completed in May 2010.
While studying for her certificate Reeder met de la Guardia, who was also in the program, and they became friends immediately, especially with their mutual interest in helping seniors and their families. Given their mutual interests in assisted living it didn’t take long for them to join forces and Reeder became an official co-owner in April 2010.
Utilizing her knowledge of health and her ability to effectively educate clients, Reeder will assist de la Guardia with educating families about the options available to them with Assisted Living Locators Atlanta. Reeder’s presence and adept ability to assess families’ needs and match them to the right situation, will allow her to assist families in the Atlanta Metro area find the perfect solution for their loved one to call home.
